Overland School
Overland Experience is the only tour company offering the service to train and become an overland road crew member. We choose the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to deliver this training program.
The training is based around an overland route so you will see firsthand the highlights as we travel overland across the countries of East Africa. You will learn the skills of camp craft, basic mechanics as well as navigation skills to enable you to lead overland expeditions.
In the first instance you should be hard working, have a positive attitude, be enthusiastic about meeting new people & visiting new places. You also need to be prepared to lead a nomadic lifestyle, living out of your backpack & being away for over a year at a time.
Our training is recognized by all of the leading Overland Companies and a great many of our graduates take up positions as road crew immediately after finishing our 3 week tour program.
The training tour takes place in April each year - in time for taking up overland positions from May to December and beyond. Upon completion of the training you will receive a letter of recommendation.
